Programme Selection
The selection process for incoming international residencies
The criteria:
A strong case for working with their selected curator
Assurance that the chosen curator will share their learning, knowledge and skills with peers both in the UK and on their return to their home country
Assurance that their chosen curator will work with the Curatorial Network in building sustainable networks with their own country
Ability to manage expectations
Clear idea of how the residency will impact upon the organisation and its audiences
Clear understanding of the role of host to an overseas curator
Clear objectives of both host and curator
Ability to deliver a robust seminar around issues explored during the residency
Willingness to work with the support of project management team
Agreeing to submit evaluation report at the end of the residency/seminar
Selection process:
Information will be distributed as described above
Potential hosts for residencies apply with proposal in electronic format
A panel of around 4-5 comprising representatives from ACE SW, KURATOR, APS and one independent specialist will meet to discuss applicants and select the host organisation(s)
The selection process for international group visits
The criteria:
A strong case for wishing to travel to the region with evidence of research
Willingness to share learnings, skills and knowledge with colleagues in the South West and overseas
Willingness to network
Awareness of cultural differences in different countries
Ability to keep up with a strenuous itinerary
Strong interpersonal skills
An understanding of the objectives of the international travel programme
Selection process:
Information distributed through various sources as above
Curators invited to apply in writing stating reasons for wishing to travel to the particular region
ACE SW, APS, KURATOR, and independent specialist meet to select curators
