Curatorial Network is now inviting applications from curators in the South West who would like to go on this visit To apply for a place please: • Outline your reasons for wishing to travel to China in no more than 500 words. • Provide a current CV • Clearly mark your application letter with your name, address and organisation you work for. We will welcome applications from independent curators who are self-employed. • Deadline for applications:12 noon 20 August 2007 • Successful applicants will be notified by 6 September Criteria for selection The ambition for Curatorial Network is to create opportunity to stimulate collaborative working practice and peer support amongst curators across the South West region and to raise the quality of curatorial practice. To this end: • A convincing reason to attend to China • Candidates that show a willingness to share knowledge and network across the region • Priority will be given to curators who have had little previous access to professional development programmes and little opportunity to travel overseas. • Support for curators working independently, without the ability to call upon organisational resources and limited peer support. Other issues Depending on quality of application we will aim at a spread of places allotted across the region. Ideally the group would comprise curators who have some international experience and network and those who are at an earlier stage in their careers. It is hoped that younger curators will learn from those with a little more experience and confidence.
