* Thurs 18th October - 12.30pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Malcolm Miles and Cornford & Cross deliver a talk about their practice and
installation.
* Sat 20th October - 2pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Lucy Willow delivers a talk entitled 'Beginners Guide; What is Installation
Art?'
* Sun 21st October - 2pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Patrick Lowry, from Cornwall College, delivers a talk about the differences
and similarities of installation, site-based and intervention work.
* Wed 24thOctober - 1.30pm at Newlyn Art Gallery
Alison Bevan, Director of Penlee House, gives an overview on the original
Newlyn School covering the most well-known artists within this group.
* Wed 24th October - 2.30pm at Newlyn Art Gallery
NSA Artists, from the show, talk about responding to Newlyn village and
fishing. Speakers at this talk include: Bernard and Audrey Evans, Nicola
Buxton, Marion Taylor, Alessandra Ausenda, John Keys, Kurt Jackson and
Nicola Bealing.
* Thurs 25th October - 12.30pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Dr Bernard Deacon delivers a talk about the changing work patterns since the
1880's & the transition from an industrial to a post -industrial society.
* Wed 31st October - 2.30pm at Newlyn Art Gallery
Melissa Hardie, author of 'One Hundred Years in Newlyn, Diary of a gallery'
will deliver a talk outlining the building, its history and its occupants at
various times.
* Thurs 1st November - 12.30pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Sovay Berriman, from Cornwall College, delivers a talk on Cornford & Cross,
the artists currently exhibiting at The Exchange.
* Wed 7th November - 2.30pm at Newlyn Art Gallery
Jonathan Holmes, Access and Outreach Officer at Penlee House Gallery and
Museum, will deliver a talk outlining the Newlyn School, with a focus on
selected paintings, which have inspired contemporary NSA members.
* Thurs 8th November - 12.30pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Simon Jaques, artist, delivers a talk entitled 'My dog could do that!'
* Wed 14th November - 2.30pm at Newlyn Art Gallery
NSA Artists, from the show, are talking about artist's exhibiting/ working
out of the galleries/off-site. Confirmed speakers include: Denny Long, Bren
Unwin and Ken Turner
* Thurs 15th November - 12.30pm at The Exchange, Penzance
Steven Paige delivers a talk called 'Beginners Guide; What is Conceptual
Art?'
* Tues 20th November - 7.30pm at Penlee House Museum
Alison Bevan will deliver a talk on the following seven pieces selected for
inspiration by NSA members, Rain It Raineth; The Bread Winners; King Arthurs
Wood; Girl on a Cliff; Trembath; Ballerina enamels; School is Out.
* Wed 28th November - 2.30pm at Newlyn Art Gallery
NSA Artists, from the show, are talking about artists responding to a
specific Newlyn school artwork and responding to a particular location
(other than Newlyn). Confirmed speakers include: Paul Nichols, Sue Kinley,
John Keys and Bernard Irwin.
* Tues 4th December - 7.30pm at Penlee House
Jonathan Holmes and Alessandra Ausenda will deliver a talk outlining how
artists used photographs; including art photographs and early photographs
that show how accurately the artists captured the people of the area.
