CALL FOR ARTISTS
Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange and BTCV are looking for a community
artist to help support a photographic and community documentary project for
residents on Treneere, Penzance. The project will work with individuals and
groups to explore a sense of identity and place through domestic and home
life. The project is planned to run from mid November 2007 to the end of
January 2008 and will culminate in an exhibition at The Exchange Gallery,
Penzance.
A Community Artist is sought with the following experience and skills:
Three years experience of community development;
1. Experience of working in the social housing sector;
2. Experience of supporting groups and individuals;
3. Experience of using photography and documentary narrative as an
artistic medium.
The fee is £1200 and it is anticipated that work will amount to eight days,
spread over a six week period. Flexibility to attend out of hours meetings
and evening workshops is required.
