Dear Paul,
I too am interested in how you found the practice-theory model worked for
you. I would be very interested to read your thesis - is it possible for you
to provide the title etc so I may request a copy from the British Library?
I am also working on my phd, and it is still under discussion about whether
it is pure theory based or not - I personally feel it has a strong applied
practice element to it.
I too have 'curated' projects in the south west, primarily temporary public
art events and off-site projects, and I hail from an artist-led group
background, having my 1st degree and Ma in fine-art practice. I frame the
word curate because it is a term I have always felt doesn't quite fit, which
is why I prefer the term 'producers' which you and Claire have often
referred to.
I would be interested to talk more about these things too.
Regards
Carolyn
