santralistanbul’un uluslararası sanatçı rezidansları  
programının ilk projesi olan “Işık, Aydınlanma ve Elektrik”,  
süreç içinde gerçekleşen bir proje olarak planlandı. Proje,  
çeşitli sunum formatları ve araştırma alanlarıyla rezidans  
sanatçılarının, İstanbul’da geliştirdikleri işlerle birlikte  
yolculuğunu gözlemlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu formatların  
(konuşmalar, sunumlar, performanslar ve atölye çalışmalarının)  
verileri, yolculuğu birbiri üzerine katlanan iki sunum olarak  
şekillendirdi: Sanatçı rezidanslarında açık-atölye sunumları  
ve Enerji Müzesi’ndeki sergi. Sergi, elektrik ve ışık üzerine  
çeşitli okumaları, düşünceleri ve uygulamaları belgelerken,  
sekanslar ve belleğin anlatıları üzerinden sanatçıların şehri  
algılayışını aydınlatıp, görünür kılıyor.

The launching project of the international artists-in-residence  
program of santralistanbul, “Light, Illumination, & Electricity”,  
is planned as an event in process. The project attempts to follow the  
journey of the resident artists and their works, progressed in  
Istanbul, with various presentation formats and fields of research.  
The inputs of these formats (talks, presentations, performances and  
workshops) have shaped the outcome of this journey into two-folded  
display: open-studio presentations at the artists’ studios and the  
exhibition at the Energy Museum. The exhibition documents the  
multiplicity and diversity of ideas and practice around the extensive  
substances of electricity and light. At the same time, it engenders  
and illuminates artists’ reflections and perceptions of the city,  
along with sequences and narrations of memory.
