Speakers including Maria Thereza Alves, David A. Bailey, Weyman Bennett, Ursula Biemann, Paul Domela, Raimi Gbadamosi, Melanie Jackson, Kate Rich, Florian Schneider, Tom Trevor, Claudia Zanfi. 

The day of discussion brings together exhibiting artists and cultural theorists, historians and curators to respond to the central issues of the project. The symposium examines three strands of discussion: global economic conditions of trade and their effects upon port cities, the new cultural geographies of globalisation and the lasting effects of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, as reproduced in contemporary British culture.
