I Say Culture, You Say....................!
No Programme Part 1: Chronicles from a Bureaucratic Beyond is an attempt to
take the cultural agenda elsewhere.

Launch Event
21 September 6.30pm ­ 8.30pm

Its starts with a closing. The launch will salute the end of an era of
programmed culture.

It grows from the middle. Already underway are culture awards that connect
people in the city, language classes that produce dubbed dialects for
talking about experiences of racism, migration and bureaucracy, and a series
of small, thought-action publications find their way into the world.

Finale Event
10 November 2pm ­ 9pm

It ends with a beginning.  A constituent working group that develops its own
forms of cultural participation. The grand finale will be an opening event.

Get Involved
 
Volunteer for the C.A.P.E.R (Culture Accomplishments in Plymouth: an
Extravagant Relay) Awards; engage in Rural Dialects and participate in the
Culture Action Working Group
 
Initiated by the Committee for Radical Diplomacy, C.A.P.E.R is a
participatory project that will spill in and out of the Plymouth Arts Centre
this autumn.
 
A team of glamorously dressed and fabulous PRESENTERS with an interest in
the visible and invisible cultures of Plymouth is coming together to
dispatch awards to the people that make this city sparkle!
 
WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN US?
 
A taste for going places and not knowing where you will end up, a gift of
the gab, and/or an interest in video and photography is a plus!
 
Engage in Rural Dialects
 
The Monitoring Group and Ultra-Red present,
Bass Community: PLYMOUTH
Sunday, September 9, 1-4 PM
Plymouth Arts Centre
 
The Monitoring Group and sound artists Ultra-red invite you to a free
community event featuring multilingual performances and discussions. Bass
Community offers a safe space to discuss experiences of racism, bureaucratic
culture and the struggle for anti-racist justice. Food and childcare will be
provided free of charge.
 
Bass Community: Plymouth is one stop on a performance tour addressing racism
in England's Southwest. Recordings from Bass Community performances will be
presented in the forthcoming exhibition 'No Programme: Chronicles from a
Bureaucratic Beyond (21 September ­ 11November), part of the Plymouth Art
Centre's Artists and Curators Residency Programme.
 
The performances will also take place in Torbay, Exeter and Bridgewater.

initiated in collaboration with educator, activist and institutional
mischief Janna Graham and curated by The Committee for Radical Diplomacy,
Ultra-Red and Plymouth Arts Centre as part of the Artists and Curators
Residency Programme.
