Rhizome has just announced artists commissions for 2009:

In connection with the earlier discussion on this List, Rhizome implements
an interesting curatorial model in that:

ŒThe Rhizome Commissions Program is distinguished by its dedication to art
engaged with technology and by its open member vote. When complete,
[commissioned works] will be preserved in our ArtBase and all artists will
be invited to present at Rhizome's affiliate, the New Museum of
Contemporary. 
The next call for proposals will take place January 2009.¹

Rhizome is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and an affiliate of the
New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York.
